Shipping Policies & Restrictions

Effective Date: 01 July 2025

At Lone Wolf Gun Shop, we are committed to complying with all federal, state, and local firearm and ammunition regulations. Please read this page carefully before placing your order. Your compliance helps keep our community safe and your orders legal.

General Ammunition Shipping Policies

  • Must be 18+ to purchase shotgun ammo; 21+ for rifle or handgun ammo.
  • Shipped only to the 48 contiguous U.S. states via ground shipping.
  • No expedited shipping for ammunition orders.
  • No returns accepted for shipped ammunition.
  • All issues must be addressed with the original manufacturer.
  • If shipped to an FFL, only ammunition should be in that order.
  • COE required for FFL Type 03 shipments.

State-by-State Ammunition Shipping Restrictions

California – Ships to FFL Only

  • Only to FFL Type 01/02 with valid documents.
  • COE required for Type 03.
  • Consumer pays 11% CFET tax to FFL.

Connecticut – Documentation Required

  • Driver’s License + valid ammo/firearm permit required.

District of Columbia

  • No shipments of ammunition permitted.

Illinois – Documentation Required

  • FOID Card + Driver’s License required.

Massachusetts – Ships to FFL Only

  • LTC card and FFL documentation required.

New Jersey

  • No handgun ammunition shipped.
  • Rifle calibers .223, .308, 30-06, 7.62x39, etc. may ship without extra documents.
  • Other calibers require Firearm Purchaser ID and Driver’s License.

New York – Ships to FFL Only

  • Only to FFL premises addresses.

Magazine & Firearm Part Shipping Restrictions

The following states do not permit magazine shipments of any capacity:

  • California
  • Colorado
  • Connecticut
  • District of Columbia
  • Illinois
  • Maryland
  • Massachusetts
  • New Jersey
  • New York
  • Vermont

Restricted magazine orders will be refunded for the magazine only.

Firearm & Component Shipping Limitations by State

We follow all state-specific firearm laws. If your item is illegal in your jurisdiction, your order will be canceled and refunded as store credit only.

We DO NOT ship to: Chicago, IL · Denver, CO · Washington D.C. · Any U.S. Territory · International locations

Shipping Methods & Charges

  • Shipping charges calculated at checkout based on weight, size, and destination.
  • HazMat products (e.g., powder, primers) incur an extra $14.99 fee.
  • Black Powder orders incur a $12.49 handling fee and must ship alone.
  • Firearms must ship to a valid FFL. Handguns ship 2nd Day Air. Long guns ship UPS Ground.
  • Estimated delivery timeframes will be shown at checkout.

Carrier Limitations

  • No PO Box delivery for UPS Ground or Air shipments.
  • No expedited shipping for HazMat or DOT-regulated items.
  • Orders with serialized products must ship to FFLs.

Law Enforcement / Military Exemptions

If you’re an LEO or Military customer and your state restricts certain items, please contact our customer service before placing an order.
